The Legends
The myths, stories and historical events that inspired the series
King Arthur, Camelot and Avalon
King Arthur was probably a King of some of Britain at the end of the fifth century AD, not all that long after Roman rule was finished.
Within the Kingdom Rising series, he is the descendent of a Nubian Centurion, Tanyidamani, and a good King although easily manipulated by his close advisor, Lancelot Du Lac who is not what he seems.
Many pieces of the legends are touched upon, Viviane, Morgaine, Mordred, the Battle of Badon Hill, Arthur's death at Camlan are all mentioned.
Avalon is a land set outside of time, created by Myrddin (Merlin) in order to escape the world. However, it is stolen by HaSatan himself and exists in an unchanging kingdom where people live as pets and their creativity, their intelligence, their inspiration - anything that reminds HaSatan thathumanity is created in the image of God - is removed.
Myrddin is an important character in the final two books. He is a Cambion, the son of a human mother and a demon father. Born to Adhan Gwilym, Darian attempted to murder him at birth and later stood by and did nothing when he was condemned to burn as a sorcerer.

Lloyd Rosen takes on the mantle of the second Arthur, creating New Camelot, arefuge, a homeless shelter, a medical centre, foodbank and a place where broken people can be healed and made whole.

The Wandering Jew

The Wandering Jew is a Medieval legend concerning a Jewish shoemaker, Ahasver, who mocked Jesus on the way to the cross and was condemned to live on until the day Jesus returns. In the Kingdom Rising books, Ahasver (Ahaseurus) is one of the four sons of Yehudah, the shoemaker, who remain alive for two thousand years.

The Biblical Story

The Biblical Story is one of the most important threads of the Kingdom Rising series. The King and His war against Satan for the hearts and souls of mankind, the rising of His kingdom and the falling of the demonic army are written throughout the pages of all thirteen books, although most thoroughly in The King's Story.

Cambions

A Cambion is a creature born of a human mother and a demon father, rather like the Nephilim of Jewish legend. Myrddin is a Cambion, the son of HaSatan himself. This makes him far more inclined towards the spiritual side of life, but does not necessarily mean he cannot rise above his birth and serve the King. Ahasuerus too, is a Cambion, meaning that both Jemma and Arthur are also half Cambion.
